Frauke Tyrrell officially opened the newly expanded Preston plant and unveiled a dedication plaque. Present at the opening where the NCI Board members, The Executive Team and the assembled Preston staff.
Peter Spassopulos, project leader, thanked the team involved: Michael Graf (builder), Joe Arcaro (architect) Project Tijuana Steering Committee: Adrian Marcon, Brad Miloshis, Chi Chi Luan, Darren Stevenson, David Taufer, Dragan Radovic, Joe Galea, Milorad Stankovic, Salvador Mendoza,Jun Pediongco, Simone Gouvoussis. the Executive Team, the NCI Board, Frauke Tyrrell.and all the staff who contributed. Project Tijuana increased the floor space of the factory and warehouse by 50%, added covered loading docks that allow two trucks to be loaded at the same time. Many production lines have been relocated within the factory, an additional 4 Litre line has been installed and space freed up for future expansion and the facade has been refreshed. During the project Quality and OHS both improved and there was minimal distruption to customers which is a testament to dedication of the staff.
Anthony Hengel, thanked the whole team for their efforts to support the project and to keep customers service high and delivery products in full and on time. Anthony told the assembled staff the increased security is required by many customers, especially food producers. Some of the extra space is allocated for a new aerosol line that will be installed in May 2018.
Frauke Tyrrell spoke to the Board, NCI staff and contractors who were involved in making the project a success.and expressed her confidence in the future that this expansion enables. She thanked the board for helping her make the financial commitment to this project which is the largest project NCI has undertaken since the privatisation 5 year ago.
At the conclusion of the ceremony Frauke, the Board and staff enjoyed a buffet lunch. This was a great opportunity for the staff to interact with Frauke and Board.
