NCI invests $35 million in NZ/Auckland milk powder plant

Production started at NCI Packaging’s new Auckland factory at the beginning of 2020. A $35 million investment in the new Auckland site has positioned NCI as a key player in the New Zealand infant formula market.  The new ‘state of the art’ IF facility produces milk powder cans for our customers on leading European can making equipment. A high-hygiene packaging hall with the highest level automated in-line inspection systems sets the benchmark for product protection for our infant formula cans.

Metal Star 3 printing-press – The only one in NZ

In the year 2000 NCI was the first company worldwide to purchase two Metal Star 1 printing presses in Australia. NCI has over 20 years of experience in metal decoration collaborating with our customers to create the highest printing standard for consumers. This is particularly vital in the high-end milk powder market.

For the new milk powder facility NCI once again collaborated with K&B and installed the latest Metal Star 3 printing press, which is the only one in New Zealand.

This enables NCI to be flexible in our supply chain, by producing both the metal printing and the infant formula/food can making in one site.
