National Can was ready to expand and purchased the Dalson group out of receivership, the buy was an excellent one that was soon clear of debt. Its production of metal products was an allied range, requiring the dies and designs that National Can could provide. It also propelled National Can into plastics, at a time when plastics was seen as a serious competitor to cans.
