05 July 1993 - NCI acquires Tinplate Containers Pty Ltd (SA)

This gave NCI a subsidiary in South Australia.

July 1993 National Can purchased the assets and trading name of Tinplate Containers Pty Ltd, Adelaide, South Australia.

Formed in 1945 as Aunger and Fleming Pty Ltd, it operated in the Adelaide suburb of Brompton. This pioneer can maker had links with National Can, buying components from National Can in the 1960s for the production of its pails and can components.

The sole can making company in South Australia, its product range included pails and cans for the paint, chemical, and edible oil industries, and for food, lubricating oil and automotive companies. This gave NCI a subsidiary in South Australia.
