Northcote Decoration Plant

25 March 1987 - Northcote decoration plant completed

4-colur Bauer and Kunzi printing press was installed to provide world class metal decoration.

Coil sheeting, coating and printing equipment installed.

A new coating oven was installed at Northcote. Built by LTG Luft-technische GmbH of Stuttgart, Germany.
The oven was shipped in six containers and assembled by LTG technicians. With a maximum sheet size of 960mm x 1150mm, the oven cured coated tinplate up to 6500 sheets per hour and, using a complex hot air circulation between each coated sheet, with perfect drying results. It is an energy-saving oven with environmental features – coating solvents are vaporised and incinerated, with the heat generated used in ἀring the oven and only clean air being discharged.

All complimented by a Littell sheeting line to convert coils of tinplate to sheets for coating, printing and further processing into components and cans.
